But now they are starting to come along, and my stepmom is happy now. Don't worry what other people say becuase well if you are already living on your own, then you are old enough to make your own decisions. Oh and your belly looks so cute!!!

I hope you have someone other than your boyfriend to help though. If I did not have my mom I don't know what I would have done. It is not going to be fun loosing out on so many things, but it is cool growing up with your child. I have to remind myself all the time that I am his mother not his friend. I can say I am happy I had my son so young, the bond between us is amazing. Your picture is beautiful. Good Luck and Congrats.

First of all you look beautiful and second, I had my first child when I was 13 years old....It was very hard but he is my little guy (hes 10 now). I'm 24 years old now and I'm having another baby (a girl!). I am 22 weeks pregnant and let me tell I've heard it all for having a baby that young.Having my son that young made me the woman I am today and I will never regret a single moment of it. It has prepared me for my little girl and done so much more for me as a woman. Congrats and you will make a great mommy!!

Yeah alot of young girls get pregnent but atleast alot of us have the courage to take responsibility for our actions, and no Im not on well fair if that is what you are thinking! I am engaged to an older man who is a truck driver and makes a wonderful living and taked care of both of us. I think every one is entitled to their own opinion, including the first comment. Teenage pregancy is obviously not going anywhere, and it does become a sad situation when you dont make something of your life afterwards. However, if you are still in school, and determined to continue your education to prepare your self for a better future for you and your unborn child, BOTH you and your fiance or baby father...I applaude that. But when teenagers consistantly continue to have babies making the same mistake repeatedly, depending on their parents support and shelter, welfare, and without making any effort to better your future, it becomes a very sad situation because the cost of living, and employment opportunities both become difficult to afford and to find without a solid education to back you up. It's just a fact of life.

It is up to your doctor BRANDY. I hope all of the "MOMS" and "MOMMIES to BE" are getting regular PRENATAL CARE. It is very important for the health and well being of your unborn baby. During my 1st pregnancy I was 22 and was only scheduled one ultrasound when I was about 4 or 5 months pregnant with my daughter. That is usually around the time when they can tell what the sex of the baby will be as well. Now I am 30 and preganant with my second child and at almost 3 and a half months, I have already had 2 ultrasounds. I had one at 7 weeks, and one about a week ago at just 3 months. I guess the older you are the more tests and things they have to look for in the unborn baby. I am due for another one when I am about 4 months. GOOD LUCK LADIES!

My mother was 17 when she gave birth to my sister, and she was a great mother, it depends on the person, society needs to stop trying to put people in little boxes, some 17/18 year olds are more mature than some 45 year olds I know... its not how old you are its who you are.

My first ended in a miscarriage and then my son was born when I was only 26 weeks pregnant. He died in the NICU when he was 6 weeks old. I couldn't have made it through all that and this pregnancy (10 wks) without my husband. How many of you girls are really ready to handle something like that if it were to happen. It breaks my heart that girls give themselves away with no thought. My husband and I waited till we were married to have sex. And it was so worth it. Waiting till you get married to have sex can be done and it doesn't kill you. I'm proud of you girls for not having abortions but there is also the option of adoption. I have many friends that can't get pregnant and would give anything to raise a child in a home with a mom and dad that are married and can support a baby. I wish you all the best but please think about abstinence till you get married.

Young pregnancies are great, perfectly normal, and shouldn't be looked down upon at all by anyone.

The first comment was harsh but many old timers feel that it is a disgrace to have children when you are a child yourself. Yes it may be disappointing but shit does happen. I commend the girls that do get pregnant at a young age and survive (meaning take care of their kids and sacrifice). Once you have a child life changes drastically. Even for the ones that are older. It is a big step in ones life and I don't care how old you are not everyone is ready for it. Each person is different. I have to say though I hate it when I hear about all of these idiots taking for granted the gift that they have been given by god and go and kill their babies. If they did not want it then either abort or adopt out. There are too many choices today and killing is just not acceptable. I would like to wish everyone the best of luck young and old. Being pregnant is a blessing. So enjoy it because men will never know how great it feels when you feel that little one move in your belly. It is just simply amazing!

As far as the first comment, they are so stupid.
When I was 14 I found out that I was 3mths preg. and my mother forced me to have an abortion, even though I had no control I will live with that guilt for the rest of my life.
I find myself every year telling myself how old that baby would be.
Yes you are young, but trust me when I tell you, you will mature in so many ways and parenting will come natural to you.

At the age of 21, yes, that many kids will make the house feel like a daycare and will make things rough, I will not deny that, but, in the same sense, its more to love! A decently big family has always been important to me and now that I am pregnant with this child, with the man that is truely my soulmate, life for me is complete! Best of wishes to you and yours!

I would have been 37 weeks pregnant yesterday, I had a miscarriage, and I am 19. Young pregnancies have absolutely NOTHING to do with age, its about maturity. I know many 18 year olds that are way more mature then some 30 year olds.

I am however deeply saddened by the number of children that are being concieved before marriage. Sex is a wonderful bond between husband and wife. Sex before marriage is a sin. Consider adoption, there are so many married couples just in the US that pray daily for a child. They are able to provide the stability of both parents and financially ( children are not cheep)for a baby. Please think this over: If you love your child and want to provide the best life possible for that baby, get married BEFORE you have sex!

'Abstinence' the word 'cheep' is what a baby bird says to it's mother. You might want to learn how to spell your preaching correctly.
Not everybody is religious and not everybody believes that abortion is 'murder' - perhaps you might like to go join a closed minded group that continues to think that women have no personal right or choices to make desicions that will help them live a better life instead of an open forum where women are sharing positive thoughts with each other about pregnancy??.
Get with the times, or go stuff your face in your Bible and keep your closed minded, uninformed preaching to yourself.
P.S. I'm glad you are offering up YOUR babies for adoption seeing as you think it is so easy to do. Many mommies out there will bless you as their gift giving Angel...

I have graduated ASU and am now a school teacher and happily married. A baby is no joke and if you are not prepared mentally, physically and economically life will be very hard, not just for you but also for your baby. Think about the responsibility a baby brings and when you are ready to offer him/her the very best you can then go for it. When accidentally got pregnant at 15 I had an abortion. It was absolutely the right decision for me to make at the time.
Abortion is a tool used by those who are having severy malformed or ill babies - women who were raped - women who may die in child birth - children who get pregnant - women who absolutely cannot afford the baby, but would most likely keep it in a life of poverty if they birthed it because they couldn't give it up - and of course still born babies.
If you want to 'think of the children' then really 'think of the children'. Abortion is as selfish and selfless a decision as keeping the baby is.
It should absolutely not be used as a method of birth control - but I for one am happy that it was available to me when I desperately needed it.
Babies ARE blessings - but so is CHOICE.

First of all, it is possible, the only way to 100 avoid conception is to not have sex at all. I am currently pregnant with my second child and this child wasn't planned at all. We were on the pill and using condoms, religiously. So your statement was very ignorant in my eyes. If something is suppose to be, it's going to be.

I am so glad to see that probably 90% of the comments for Kassidy are positive, but there should be NO negative comments on here at all. She got pregnant young, its not the end of the world. At least shes mature and responsible enough to carry this baby, love this child and be a great mom to it...and not just go and get "rid" of it like a lot of young people do. And with some of the negative comments on here, I see why some young girls opt for abortion. They are treated as though their pregnancy is a total let down to society, and they are judged so harshly, it puts them in a really tough situation. If you have something negative to say, keep it to yourself. What if someday your daughter/sister/cousin/niece would get pregnant at a really young age? Are you going to let them know what a disapointment they are? When I was in High School there were quite a few girls that did get pregnant, they continued school, their education, and some of them really worked their butt off to graduate a year early to go to college and everything. Kassidy...enjoy your pregnancy. Don't let anyone bring you down. Just enjoy this experience and that little baby :)

I just want to say that I think that being pregnant at a young age is not a terrible thing. That no matter at what age you get pregnant, be it 18 or 35, pregnancy is a blessing...people need to be more supportive and less negative or rude. I know a lot of people my age (18-21) that are pregnant or already have a baby. And they're doing great. Because they have love for themselves and their baby. My friend had her baby when she was 18, she got pregnant while we were seniors in high school, and she got so many dirty looks and criticism for still going to high school, being so young and pregnant. But she kept her head up, graduated (w/ her cute baby bump receiving her diploma) and is in college. Now, she is pregnant with her second, and couldn't be happier! She is achieving her goals of becoming a nurse and finishing college. Point being, anything is possible even if you do get pregnant at a young age, with motivation and the willingness to succeed. Congratulations and Good luck with you, your baby, and anything you do. :))

Wow, momof2, that was a stupid thing to say. Some of us "kids" don't use condoms because we're trying to get pregnant, not because they are too expensive. I have sat and read these comments, some I've been sickened by and others, quite glad to see rebutted. I was told by my OB/GYN at the age of 16 when I had surgery on my left ovary, that if I didn't have children by the time I was 25, I probably wouldn't have the chance. Now I did try at 16, and it didn't work, which was a good thing in hind-sight, because he was a loser, however, when I graduated high school, I went to The Ohio State University and was in their ROTC program when I met my would be husband. We were NOT married and in fact, hadn't at that point, even given it consideration. But he had agreed to be a partner in getting pregnant...I was 18! I didn't conceive until April of 98 which meant I was 19 by that point, I delivered a beautiful boy on December 23rd, I did not get married until April 9th 1999...Yes, the same "twenty-something boyfriend"! I was pregnant with my second child that I lost, in June of that same year. I did recover from my miscarriage and actually conceived during that first cycle in June. My second remarkable boy was born in Feb 00. My husband went to Korea (because you see, I married the same person that gives you the freedom to think and say that "kids" should get an "f*cking job", when in fact many already have them) and while he was in Korea for 15 months, I went back to school. He came home and by Oct 02, we were pregnant with our third stunning son. He was born in July 03. June 04 rolls around, and I get "knocked up" again...ALL PLANNED, I might add. I had my fourth gorgeous son the day before Valentine's day in 2005. My husband volunteered to go to Iraq in Nov 05 and I supported and encouraged every moment of it. Mind you, now I'm working on borrowed time...I'm over the age of 25 (the age you'll recall the doctor gave me) and I have grown, so obviously I am no longer a "kid". To continue, my husband came home for his two week mid-tour in April of 2006 and I got "knocked up" again...again planned. However, the day after he left, I miscarried...and had to wait to tell him until 4 days after he landed in Baghdad, when communications were resumed. We are now in our 7th pregnancy...and I'm 28 years old and I've been married 8 years...is that old enough for your apparent elitist attitude to think that I may have a baby?? I have been blessed 7 times to carry a child in my womb and hopfully by January 14th 2008, I will have 5 children, and I will do it alone, he leaves on June 2nd to go to Africa...again to help encourage your right to be an idiot. (There is a large Al Qaida system in Northern Africa) Just to reinforce you're ignorance, how many people do you know, personally, that have CHOSEN to have 7 pregnancies or even 5 and have had them all with the same person, their husband, even at a so called "grown-up" age?? I have had all of my chilren with the same man, my husband (whom, remind you, I wasn't married to when I gave birth to our first son). I have managed to continue my education and I have NEVER used the government to raise or rear any of my children. I get to stay home with my sons and with this new baby as well, so for you to think that "kids" can not make wise choices about their own lives is absolutley asinine (look it up)! I have not only come out of the "teenage mom" bracket, but I have also managed to prove medical professionals wrong, and each and every child I conceive at this point in my life is a complete miracle from God, and people like you, with your mentality and attitude, should mind your own lives; and fix them, I'm sure they are in dispair or you wouldn't spend your time judging others!!
Thanks for your time and by the way,
Kassidy, you should be nearing the end of your pregnancy within a month or so, so good luck and I wish you all the best in everything that you do with your life!

Kassidy, it can be done as long as you put your baby first and do everything for them. i understand the negative stereotype young mothers get, but people should realize that we're not all lazy whores who just let our parents raise our own children. some of us do have brains in our beautiful heads. i wish you the best of luck and i hope you dont let the negative things get to you!

momof2 you like to jump to conclusions WAY to quickly. just because we are young and pregnant...or may have already had kids...that doesn't make us irresponsible in any way. for your information i have graduated high school and i was on honor role. i DO have a full-time job, i haven't been without a job since i was 16 years old. i am still with my boyfriend and he is extremely happy for us and is doing everything he can to help me.
not all young mothers are worthless people. yes i will admit that there are some troubled mothers out there and women that should not reproduce, but they come in all ages, not just teenagers.
i am happy i am pregnant at a younger age. i think i will be able to relate to my child better than i would have been able to if i had waited till i was say 30-40 to have one. im not knocking the moms that are that age in anyway though. i believe as long as you are mature enough and ready it doesn't matter what age you are. if you realize that having a baby is going to change EVERYTHING in your life and you are going to have a ton more responsibilities and you are okay with all of it then more power to you.
stop judging young mothers and placing them in this pathetic little stereotype. to all of you that do this, it's sad when you only want to judge us and place crude remarks about us when we are actually more mature then any of you ever could be.
congrats to all the mommies out there and good luck with everything!

Ive only read a select few comments on here but some things are just way crazy. Some people are making points and some are just being plain mean. There are people assuming that just because someone is having a kid at a young age that they were planning on it and we were stupid for doing so.
As for someone asking why we dont use condoms or if they are too expensive for us to buy? i mean havnt you heard that any and all protection and precaution is only like 98% effective. I used a condom every single time i had sex and was on the pill for a select few months. I have a year and a half old now and I can still say that every time ive had sex ive used a condom. im also 6 weeks preggy. Oh yeah, im 20 years old.
Im not saying "Hey im 20 and ima be a mother of two and thats the cool thing" Obviously i wasnt trying to do it. But I am going to take my consiquences and deal with it. Not every teen mom is a fool. A lot of us grow from it and are great at what we do. I know a girl who got pregnant while on the pill. It happens. Not every teen mom is getting in that position on purpose. Sure there are those that do. Though girls do need to graduate and get a great education and a supporting job/career before really wanting to have kids, just sometimes that joy is brought to you unexpectedly, but it is still a joy.
I just really hate people putting us down and placing all of us into one pathetic group. Everything happens for a reason and we all need to accept what is thrown at us. I always look on the brighter side and know that things are always know that if things get worse before they get better, they are still going to get better.
Peace out....

There are plenty of people who are "old enough" to have children and are horrible parents. Age doesn't matter either you are going to be a good pparent or you're not regardless of whether you are 17 or 37. I am 23 and married my husband and I are trying to have our 1st a lot of people say we are too young but that's their opinion. Momoto2 or whatever her sn was is obviously not very well educated when it comes to sex. About a year before my husband and I got married (we were engaged) I had a miscarriage. I am 25 and 4 weeks with my 4th. I had my first at 18, I was 17 when I got pregnant. I'm not proud of it, but I am glad I did it the way I did simply because of my risks of pregnancy problems if I waited too long. I do strongly feel that any young mother out there needs to represent herself more maturely. Any young lady who types sentences like this: "im young n im happy so u shud b 2" should not be having children. If you type like that, you are still a child. Any young lady who is mature enough to represent herself as an adult, in type and in person, is mature enough to raise another human being. I was mature before I got pregnant with my oldest daughter and becoming a mother made me step up even more. Pregnancy and child birth are very serious steps in life and should not be glorified to young teens. It's hard work! It's a decision that needs to be made carefully.
I'm not putting down young mothers at all, don't take this that way, but as a young mother myself... if you want everyone in the world to believe you're truly capable of raising a child, you need to spell out your words when typing and represent yourself as the adult you want everyone to see you as. I really hope that makes sense. I'm just tired of seeing these little idiots typing like crap, like 14 year olds and being all excited because they are pregnant when they shouldn't even be having kids if they cannot spell properly.

Pregnancy is always a blessing, even if it's not planned and even if you're young. Everything happens for a reason and you should never regret it. just thinking about having babies makes me excited. I'm 19 and I'm having my baby in September. I'm really excited and yet petrified. lol. It's a hard feeling to explain, but i'm pretty sure all young mommies to be know the feeling that i'm speaking of.
And to the girl who posted above me, i feel like your points are valid, but what is the point in being depressed about such a wonderful thing? If a person is pregnant and 14, i would rather them feel supported than that they have been pushed aside by the world. True, they're young, but who is to say they can't be excited as well? I really think pregnancy should always be taken as a blessing. God makes things happen for a reason. Nothing is accidental in this world. True, people should be more careful when they have sex. BUT if they're already pregnant it's a bit too late to take back and i think that they should be so happy and blessed feeling. Better that than like they're going to be doomed for the rest of their life.

Once you are there isn't much you can do about it but it still shouldn't happen. For those of you who are there is a lot you can do but should experience before you have kids. I don't get how that is such a horrible thing to say. It is harder to finish school with a baby. You should get a job to take care of the baby. So what I am saying is you can't spend much time with your baby if you are going to school full time and working full time which is a have to now a days. It is not something you should do on purpose. It is also definitely better to have the father around too if possible. You can't tell me the most boys wouldn't be scared away by the thought of being a father that soon.

wow, there are so many good arguments here. i started trying to get pregnant at 18, i was told it is now or never. we did the whole lot of fertility drugs and were that the invtro step when we got divorced and i joined the air force. alittle over a year later i found out i was pregnant, unfortunatley it was the day i signed my second set of divorce papers from a husband that was abusive. i stayed on active duty as a single mom. when my son was 18 months old they diagnosed him with cerebral palsy. now he is 5 years old and i am married to the most wonderful man. we have been together for the better part of 4 years (when we were not seperated due to the air force)and married since august. we just found out that i am bout 4 weeks pregnant. i am 27 and he is 30. we were looking for the fight to get pregnant like i had before but i guess this one was ment to be because we only tried for 4 months.
it does not matter how old you are. would i be happy if my 16 year old got pregnant, no, not really, i would support her though.
if you are mature enough to raise the baby, put its needs first, get your education, not mouch off the system and take care of it. more power to you, be careful and take care of your self. to many young girls get in the baby trap and end up having mutiple babies from mutiple dads or not knowing who the dad is, want better for your self and your child.
make something out of your self despite the negative stigma that society puts on young mothers. when i graduated school in '98 we had 2 pregnant women walk and 2 that already had babies. they all finished their educations and made something of their selves.

its sad how many young girls in America get pregnant.
Comment on 19th Nov '06 @ 4:35 pm
I think that was a horrible thing to say. Who are you to say things like that? How is it sad? Not all "young girl" pregnancies are accidental!
Comment on 19th Nov '06 @ 6:12 pm
Thank you amberly! But,yes my pregnancy was accidental, and i am young, but me and my fiance are soo happy its not even funny! I cant wait to find out what im having a little me or a little him! heheh!

Hey kassidy I am 18 and I am 16 weeks pregnant, the only people that was happy for me was my boyfriend, and my mom and me of course. The rest of my family were really dissapointed in me and they let us know it. My own stepmother asked me if I was even gonna keep it. But now they are starting to come along, and my stepmom is happy now. Don't worry what other people say becuase well if you are already living on your own, then you are old enough to make your own decisions. Oh and your belly looks so cute!!!

Hey Girl,
I had my first baby when I was just 16, and now 10 years later am expecting my second. I am 10 weeks and 3 days. You sound like you will be a great mom.

Hi Kassidy
I usually don't share this kind of information on websites but I just felt really upset and somewhat angry at the first comment that was left for you.

You know I was 22 when I had my first child and now I am five weeks pregnant with my second child and now I am 33. I have more fear now than I did when I was younger. I dont think it matters what age you are. If you have a good support team you will be just fine.

Kassidy,
I got pregnant with my daughter when I was 19 and I heard everyones comments asked for or not. I had more energy to take care of a baby. My husband (fiance at the time) and I are expecting our second child and I am 26, people still say I am young. People dont understand and know what they are talking about. You have a great attitude. Good luck with everything.

What that first commenter said is wrong...my mom has disowned me cuz I just barely turned 18, and I'm 28 weeks pregnant, and as happy as I can be with how they treat me...it was accidental, and I'm young...don't mean jack...

And now a following 3 months later I'm about 7 weeks along now... this one's on purpose. What's ment to be is ment to be. I'm 19, and I can't wait to have this baby. Hey, my names Jess and I have a wonderful 5 month old son and I just turned 19 and I am currently attending college for nursing, and I am doing just fine at such a young age and you will be a great mom to, and if anyone says being young means you cant be a good mother then they nedd a reality check because being a mother comes from deep down and age is not a factor

Hi my name is Tiffany and at 14 I found out I was 3 months pregnant, it was a accident but instead of taking it out on my child i decided to keep her and my family stood behind me, Now at 19 and My beautiful daughter who just turned 4 are expecting again and she cant wait to be a big sister. I gave up alot for her but I wouldnt take it back for anything. Yeah alot of young girls get pregnent but atleast alot of us have the courage to take responsibility for our actions, and no Im not on well fair if that is what you are thinking! I am engaged to an older man who is a truck driver and makes a wonderful living and taked care of both of us. No matter what age a mom will be a great mom if they want the baby, which I did and it has been such a wonderful four years watching her grow!

Continue your EDUCATION. BETTER YOURSELF for the FUTURE of you and your UNBORN CHILD. It will be a struggle, but well worth it in the long run, to have built a SOLID foundation for your family. You are YOUNG but it is never too late to finish school.

Comment on 18th Dec '06 @ 1:08 amThis comment is 1
It is up to your doctor BRANDY.

Kassidy is this your belly at 6 weeks? you look beautiful... this is very inspirational for me, I am a model/photographer and I have been waiting until I got more of a bump to take some photos of my belly, but you have inspired me to take some. Someone should delete that first comment on here, some people are so judgemental, even that person knew it they were to ashamed to write there name...and they should be. My mother was 17 when she gave birth to my sister, and she was a great mother, it depends on the person, society needs to stop trying to put people in little boxes, some 17/18 year olds are more mature than some 45 year olds I know... its not how old you are its who you are.

I graduated from college and am a Social Worker and I am married to the father of baby 1 and 3 (our daughter on the way)so do not let people bring you down. i was 16 when i got pregnant. non of my family supported me. they all thought i would drop out of school never go to college. i proved all of them wrong when i graduated a year early and in the top 10 percent. i am 20 now and pregnant with my second child. And in college. i am super excited. and anyone who tells me 'omg you are 20 with 2 kids' one more time will be drop kicked.no just kidding. But me and my man are super excited. and that is all that matters to me.

My whole family took it hard and it hurts when this is the happiest thing that ever happened to me. i was planning on getting married in april and now its just been pushed back a litle, but for all of you stressing about family....why worry. if you come across to them letting them know that you and the father are happy and its something you guys are in together, then they will respect that and have the same reaction you do. my mother is strict catholic and she is more excited than me and my fiance combined!!

I am 23 and pregnant for the 3rd time. I've had to be on complete bed rest for all of them. All of them were planned and we are praying that this is the first we will bring home.

I think you will be a great mommy and I'm sorry but that unpleasant person had no right saying that to you. Just because your young doesnt mean your not going to be a great mom. I'm 18 and 6 months pregnant does that make it sad or something. you and your fiance will be good parents. Congrats on your baby and take it easy ok.

hi there- I just wanted to let you know, that I had my daughter at the age of 17. I received much criticism, and not a lot of support, but you can do anything you set your mind to. After having my daughter, I put myself through college and received not only my BA, but my MA as well, and am now enrolled in law school. Dont let others get you down. You can have your baby, and still fulfill your dreams.

Hi Kassidy, i just wanted to let you know that I was a young mom, i found out i was expecting 3 days before my highschool graduation. shes now 2 and i'm expecting again July 13th,I am now married to my highschool sweetheart of 5 years. My sister in law was 17 when she got prego with her first son, shes now 21 and her oldest will be 4 in june, and youngest is 4 months, shes had a tough time with the father of her first being in jail for beating her while prego because she wouldn't get an abortion, hes been in jail off and on since, the new babes father cares more about his job than his family, shes still unmarried but shes making it, she recieves help from the government because she was so badly abused by her first sons father that she has anxiety and stress disorders as a result, she also did drugs for a long time, shes been sober now for 1 1/2 years from meth and 2 months from pot, i'm very proud of her and i've been there with her through it all, it hasn't been easy and next month shes getting her tubes tied but my point is you can do it no matter the circumstances, you can do it and i'm sure you'll be a great mom!

I didn't rad all the posts, so I don't know if this point has been brought up yet, but why do girls get their period at age 10 and 11 if God didn't want them to have any children for another 15 years after that??? Young pregnancies are great, perfectly normal, and shouldn't be looked down upon at all by anyone.

I don't think having a baby young is the problem. It is about having to pay the bills. How can you have a child and not beable to take care of them financially?

I am 27 and have a 6yr old and an 8yr old.
I am now 5 weeks and my stomach is probably alittle bigger then yours, I thought I was the only one.
Good luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey! Just wanted to drop in and say, first off, congratulations on the upcoming little one! I know you are very excited about it and I know you will be a wonderful mother. Secondly, don't allow people like "un-named coward" to get under your skin. Let me tell u a little something... I am 21 and 10 weeks pregnant with my third, yes third child. My fiancee' also has 2 of his own, this will make his third and my third.

I had my first son at the age of 17, and I graduated high school with an infant! It's as hard as people like to make it out to be. So far all the young mothers are better moms than the ladies who wait until they are closer to 30! Young moms have more energy and can keep up with the little ones, can older women say the same?

awww Christy, I am so sorry that happened to you. Abortion should never be forced on anybody, no matter what the circumstances. But I'm sure you're children are beautiful!
I would have been 37 weeks pregnant yesterday, I had a miscarriage, and I am 19. Young pregnancies have absolutely NOTHING to do with age, its about maturity. I know many 18 year olds that are way more mature then some 30 year olds.

I had my daughter when I was 24 and I am now 28 and pregnant with a son. I am so happy to see that all of the young girls here are choosing life over baby murder (better known as abortion)!
Comment on 21st Mar '07 @ 10:51 amThis comment is 1
Abstinence, first of all, sex before marriage is a given at this day in age, second of all, I am guessing you are not to smart to think that all abortion is baby murder, third of all, I know you aren’t smart because you can’t spell. It’s CHEAP not CHEEP. If she is happy and not bothering you then get over it and quit preaching to someone you don’t even know.
Comment on 21st Mar '07 @ 7:38 pmThis comment is 1
I am in complete support of girls like Kassidy(by the way is the most beautiful pregnant girl on here)It's a miracle I didn't get pregnant before I got married. Having sex with men before my husband is the biggest regret of my life. I just thank God that He didn't allow me to get pregnant before I got married. But, hey, I was concieved out of wed lock. Who am I to judge? I'm just thankful for women like my Mom who chose life and Kassidy who is choosing life for her baby.
Comment on 22nd Mar '07 @ 3:12 pmThis comment is 1
'Abstinence' the word 'cheep' is what a baby bird says to it's mother.

Lol, all the teen moms ganged up on the lady who wrote the inappropriate comment. Thats good for her (you know what). I myself am 21 and a first time mom. And guess what, my pregnancy was PLANNED. Yeah, thats right. And guess what,Im not a high school drop out. As a matter of fact, Im going to school to get my RN license. And I have 1 left. I am 14 weeks pregnant though, but i was just looking at all the different pics. Sometimes "things" happen, but there are no "mistakes". God dont make "mistakes". He makes "blessings".
Comment on 29th Mar '07 @ 10:03 amThis comment is 1
I have been reading all these comments, and it truly does make me sad to see so many teenagers pregnant. Pregnancy is a blessing, but as women we need to wait for the right time. Birth control is out there so I can't understand how young girls get pregnant "unexpectedly" unless they don't know any better. I am young myself I am 21 and 5 weeks, but my pregnancy was planned. I have graduated ASU and am now a school teacher and happily married. A baby is no joke and if you are not prepared mentally, physically and economically life will be very hard, not just for you but also for your baby. Think about the responsibility a baby brings and when you are ready to offer him/her the very best you can then go for it. To all you that are already pregnant congrats and keep your head up, stay in school for your baby's sake.

seriously.. i don't see what the big deal is... she is what...17?! who cares?!!!! she has the same right as anyone to have a baby at whatever age she wants! i gave birth to my first child at 19and one week(Andrew was stillborn)... i heard the nasty comments about me but the thing is that 20-30 years ago most women were having babies at around my age! I then fell pregnant again while planning my wedding to my fiance of 2yrs(bn together for 4 at that stage) and still heard nasty comments! i got married at 16weeks and gave birth a month before my 20th birthday... even though i am married people still shake their heads when i talk about my little angel! the thing that is sad is all the disgusting people out there that have abortions because 'they're too young(at 25)' if you are willing to do the deed, then you should be ready to live with the consequences!
CONGRATULATIONS KASSIDY!!! I HOPE YOUR LITTLE ONE BRINGS YOU A LIFETIME OF JOY!!!

You know something....I waited til 33, yes 33, to have my first. (I am 5 weeks along now and very excited!)....there is no way I could have done it at a young age and admire those that do. In my case, I am glad I waited because I got to fully enjoy my younger years....(33 is NOT old, btw!) buuuut you have the advantage of being young enough to enjoy life when they're older...so the way I see it, age doesn't make a mother, the person does.....I have known parents of all ages and some are good, some are bad, it just happens regardless of how long they've been on earth.....

This is to Cynthia who wrote:
""Birth control is out there so I can't understand how young girls get pregnant "unexpectedly" unless they don't know any better. ""

I waited till I was 20 to have my first child reach I miscarried got preg. again had a beautiful girl whos now 4 and now 7 weeks preg. It does not matter what age you are you can still be a great mommy its all about mind setting that your gonna do it and make the best of it. My sister had a baby at 15 shes now 27 and has 2 other children she is a great mommy the best. Don't let anyone tell you that you have to save yourself or be married to make a great mommy an unplanned preg. at 27 can suck as much as at 16 17 but its all in how your deal with it. I was married MY CHOICE you make your choices and you live with them so CONGRATULATIONS and make of your life and family what you will.. CONGRATS

My first was when I was 13 years old. I miscarried. Second I was 16 years old. Same thing. But I was very happy both times. I don't regret how young I was when I had my 2 kids at all. I'm married and have been since 18. We are still going strong. Even being a military family. So don't let people's comments get you down. Even in real life. Oh my gosh she is not the youngest girl in the world to get pregnant!

age has nothing to do with being a good mother. it depends on the person. i am soon to be 19 years old and i am 5 weeks pregnant and i'm VERY happy. my mother was also young when she had me and we made it just fine. i look up to my mom in a lot of ways and i'm glad she didn't listen to all the negativity and gave me a chance to live. to all of you that fear anything that is different from what you believe...OPEN YOUR EYES. not everyone is the same and it has never been that way. i guess some people are just too self-absorbed and too stuck in their own ways to care.

um yea it does age really does matter when ur pregnant...majority of young girls who get knocked up cannot carry their baby to term. and its sad that girls TRY and get pregnant so young. note to the youngins..if ya wanna prove that ur a 'grown up' and can make grown up decisions...get a fucking job! not the coolest thing to be in highschool and have a kid!
Comment on 13th May '07 @ 2:27 pmThis comment is 1
Wow, momof2, that was a stupid thing to say.
Jennifer

wow, some of these comments are out there. like momof2's. i got pregnant at 17 and had a beautiful little girl. i did marry her dad, but he was cheating on me so i left him, and the only help i had from my family was for them to babysit while i went to work and school. now im an RN and pregnant with my second baby (its a boy)

Yeaa, I'm 17 n 28 weeks pregnant, its hard, but as long as u keep up with everything n make sure u dont use your baby as you "way out" it'll b fine, I mean, Ima still go to college and shit, my baby isnt my excuse, he will be my motivation for a better life...I just hope that is how you look @ it. Good Luck hun.

momof2 you like to jump to conclusions WAY to quickly. just because we are young and pregnant...or may have already had kids...that doesn't make us irresponsible in any way. for your information i have graduated high school and i was on honor role. i DO have a full-time job, i haven't been without a job since i was 16 years old. i am still with my boyfriend and he is extremely happy for us and is doing everything he can to help me.
not all young mothers are worthless people. yes i will admit that there are some troubled mothers out there and women that should not reproduce, but they come in all ages, not just teenagers.
i am happy i am pregnant at a younger age. i think i will be able to relate to my child better than i would have been able to if i had waited till i was say 30-40 to have one. im not knocking the moms that are that age in anyway though. i believe as long as you are mature enough and ready it doesn't matter what age you are. if you realize that having a baby is going to change EVERYTHING in your life and you are going to have a ton more responsibilities and you are okay with all of it then more power to you.
stop judging young mothers and placing them in this pathetic little stereotype. to all of you that do this, it's sad when you only want to judge us and place crude remarks about us when we are actually more mature then any of you ever could be.
congrats to all the mommies out there and good luck with everything!

Peace out....

hey sweetheart, it is ok to be young and pregnant! it is not the age that matters what matters is if you are willing to put your baby first in life, and wether you are 18 or 25; if you dont want to put your child first you are not ready for a baby!! i see you are putting this lil one first so good luck to you and congrats!! by the way i am 8 weeks pregnant and i am 19, i was 18 when i was pregnant with my first (baby did not make it full term)! i was also married in highschool (to a military man;which is extra hard), but me and my husband are doing wonderful and we are lasting a lot longer than most adult marriages!! so tell your fiance i said congrats and good luck in yalls life together!!!

i have a questions for momof2....how old are you? how many kids do you have? and let me explain sumthing!! NO ONE is ever fully ready to be a parent, you never know what to expect!! like she said already younger people make better parents than most older people! plus who are you to judge this young lady? she said the pregnancy was accidental, what the hell would you have to say to her if she had an abortion? "oh young people these days all they wanna do is jump in the bed then kill there babies!" you just need to go sit down and leave this beautiful girl alone!! you are critisizing this young lady for taking responsibility for her actions! good luck with your life and raising your kids, because karma is a bitch....so watch out!!!

Age has NOTHING to do with ones ability to make a good mother.
It's sad that people make stupid comments when they do not know someone's situation. I am 19 and 33 weeks pregnant, want to say something about that? It would probably be best to just sit there and think of your stupid comment.
A Mother is a Mother regardless of age.

Hey Kassidy,
Don't listen to all these rude women telling you you are too young and should give your baby up. There's nothing wrong with giving your child up for adoption but there is also nothing wrong with keeping it.
I didn't get pregnant from bein "irresponsible" I was on bc and we used comdoms sometimes things happen.

I am young too, infact i am 17 years old and this is my senior year in high school and i am 5 weeks and 2 days pregnant... My pregnancy was unexpected but everyone is dealing with the fact and me and my boyfriend are taking on out new responsibility and as long as we have a possitive attitude we will deffinitally make it through this... my parents are upset but there to back me up no matter what...

I am 17 years old i am engaged and have been for a few months now a senior in high school and 4 weeks and 5 days pregnant. Sometimes things just happen. like with me the first time was the time that i got pregnant. We werent irresponcible stuff happens. Being young and pregnant is not a tragedy. I just turned 18 and I'm 18 weeks. Of course it was an accidental pregnancy, but that doesn't mean that I'm not completely excited about it. My entire family is being supportive, really the only person who isn't is the Dad's father.
Congrats on the baby! Hope everything turns out well!

Amen to young woman having babies and proving statistics wrong!! I'm nearly 23 and 4 weeks pregnant with my 3rd child. My husband and I couldn't be happier! I have a booming career, something I have always wanted to do and my husband is successful in his career as well! Just because we're young mothers, doesn't make us failures! We just have more stamina and are that much farther away from menapause you old bitches! lol (of course this comment is only directed to individuals who believe being a young mother is something to be ashamed about!)

I'll be 23 in September, and I'm about 6 weeks pregnant. And you wouldn't believe the look of shock and horror on my friends/relatives faces when I tell them I'm pregnant!
It's very disheartening-especially since I'm NOT a teenager, I graduated from college last year with a BA Degree, I have a steady career in my feild, and the baby's father makes amazing money and is all about being there for me and taking care of me.
I know we'll be great, and it's almost bringing me to tears right now to think everyone near and dear to my heart seems so dissapointed in me. I'm 23 years old!!!

Comment on 14th Jul '07 @ 7:52 pmThis comment is 1
How far along are you now?
How long til the baby comes?
Better that than like they're going to be doomed for the rest of their life.

ok, this is to momof2's comment, I was only 17 when I first got pregnant and the biological father left me, yes LEFT ME, and I still went on my own for almost four and a half months before out of no where, my BEST FRIENDS b/f broke up with her and asked me out, he took it unto himself to make sure I was as healthy as I could be, and you know what?? he was more heartbroken and torn when I miscarried at 29 weeks...and now I'm 18, and pregnant with HIS child, he's extatic, I think he's happier than I am that I'm pregnant...and yes, this WAS planned, we've been trying since I miscarried last December...since my doctor told me I might never have children...I'm currently 6 weeks, and as healthy as I'll ever be...not all highschool kids date "20 something guys" as you so stereotypically said...besides, my g/f, she's 15, and at 14 she decided she wanted a child, if it wasn't for the abusive f*cker who pushed her into a table at 20 weeks, she might have had her daughter lilly by now.

I am 20 years old and every single person that I told I was pegnant with my son was not tellin me CONGRATS, lol, i'll tell you that much! I had my son and now my boyfriend and I are expecting another one, well...two more acctually! My son is now 10 months. This was not planned, expecially there being two instead of only one.
Unfortunatly it was hard to stay excited once I finally did start getting excited because everytime I would tell someone I would get the SAME DAMN reaction...from EVERYONE!....."Oh no! What are you gonna do!?" "Ryley's only 10 months old now! Why would you go and get pregnant again!" "Oh my god!" and then when I told them that there was two instead of one it was even worse. My boyfriend, my mom and my boyfriends parents are the only people who are even excited for us.
What I guess I'm trying to get at. Is that it doesn't matter if you're 17 or 20. If you have a baby at any age under 30....then you're going to risk being critisized. I'll be celebrating my 21st birthday huge preggers....lol....karma anyone? lol
I wish all you ladies a happy healthy pregnancy!

Kassidy,
I just wanted to say that you look great and I got pregnant at 18 and I'm now 22 and expecting my second. Everyone has something to say on teen pregnancy, but don't stress about it. There are plenty of great (and horrible) mothers of all ages. Just take care of yourself and your baby and you'll be fine. Good luck :)
Comment on 22nd Dec '07 @ 11:44 amThis comment is 1
I just got through reading these and I agree with the girls that are basically are saying that it is a bad thing that all of these young girls (under 18) are getting pregnant.

I just found out last week that I was going to be a mother. I am 5 weeks and 1 day today and 18. Not to be religious but there is truly no "accidental" pregnancy. God has a plan and every child is here for a reason whether their mother is 30 or 17. All you can do is love your child. So keep your positive attitude. Trust me you're going to need it. =]

wow, there are so many good arguments here. i started trying to get pregnant at 18, i was told it is now or never. we did the whole lot of fertility drugs and were that the invtro step when we got divorced and i joined the air force. alittle over a year later i found out i was pregnant, unfortunatley it was the day i signed my second set of divorce papers from a husband that was abusive. i stayed on active duty as a single mom. when my son was 18 months old they diagnosed him with cerebral palsy. now he is 5 years old and i am married to the most wonderful man. we have been together for the better part of 4 years (when we were not seperated due to the air force)and married since august. we just found out that i am bout 4 weeks pregnant. i am 27 and he is 30. we were looking for the fight to get pregnant like i had before but i guess this one was ment to be because we only tried for 4 months.
it does not matter how old you are. would i be happy if my 16 year old got pregnant, no, not really, i would support her though.
if you are mature enough to raise the baby, put its needs first, get your education, not mouch off the system and take care of it. more power to you, be careful and take care of your self. to many young girls get in the baby trap and end up having mutiple babies from mutiple dads or not knowing who the dad is, want better for your self and your child.
make something out of your self despite the negative stigma that society puts on young mothers. when i graduated school in '98 we had 2 pregnant women walk and 2 that already had babies. they all finished their educations and made something of their selves.

and hedi. i am four weeks and starting to show. just a little poofyness but its still there, you show sooner with your second or third child. plus it depends on your body, just because you might not have does not mean that another womans body wont. it depends on how fast your uterus grows.

I am also young and i also agree that the first comment made on this page was absolutely rude. It's people like her like make it harder for us to deal with what going on with us. Kassidy, I am here for you. I know exactally what ur going through. your 18 now i'm guessing since u said u r 18 in march, but when r u due? I'm 17. I'll have my baby when i am still 17, but i will be only 2 months away from my 18th birthday.

i am 18 and a half right now and i've been pregnant twice but lost both babies. my first pregnancy was right before i turned 17and i lost the baby 2 months after i turned 17 (i was 3 months) and then i got pregnant this past july, 2 months before i turned 18, but lost the baby in december because of a drunk driver! i was 5 months then. i may be young and have had 2 babies almost but they were both with the same guy. its one thing if the girl is just sleeping around but age doesn't matter. i know someone 25 who just got pregnant and wants nothing to do with the baby and doesn't care. my friends now wife is just 20 and having her third kid, all with 3 diff guys and she has no custody of either.. it just depends people's situations

Hey hun, I'm glad you did not abort the baby. And I am so glad that you are getting excited! I am 19 and 7 months pregnant with my second child. It gets hard at times with money and not being able to finish school as I have always planed to do as a child, but It really is an experience of a life time! And as soon as you see the baby's little tiny hands and little tiny toes, its like reality just smacks you in the face. I'm proud of you honey!! Good luck.
