About the pregnancy cartoons
After many sleepless nights spent pondering the humorous nature of pregnancy, our yet-to-be-pregnant cartooning artist realized she was going to need some help from moms who'd been there. Happily, a beautiful collaboration between the artist and our snarky freelance mom blogger, the sarcastic journalist, sprung up to save the day! The humor was conceived together and each panel was hand-drawn by our relieved cartooning artist.

this was without a doubt the most difficult panel to produce. i spent nearly five hours on it-- trying to get the reflected images flush with the "real" girls.
i really like the concept (thanks rachel!) and feel i've managed to pull the entire thing off quite nicely. (especially their facial expressions).

Oh my Gosh...I totaly feel that way right now (6 weeks pregnant). All my husband can say is my butt is getting bigger...i guess he likes it.

before i found out that i was pregnant, me and my boyfriend would just agree that I'm just getting fat and it's nothing..... but after the test proved I really was, we were surprised that "IT WASN'T FAT!!!" lol lol

I am 14 weeks and I so feel like that. When I am feeling down about my size, my wonderful husband tells me how much more sexy it makes me look to him. I think he is just having with drawls from sex. LOL!

Oh this one portrays me before we found out I was pregnant! Now its like okay note toself. when you try something on don't look in the mirror just make sure it fits and matches. It is still hard for because i'm still trying to get used to the fact i'm gaining inches!!

I have tried 16 years to get pregnant. I want to get fat!!! As long as my MD says everything is ok, I look forward to the weight gain. :)

Well this is my 4th pregnancy. And I have only had one birth. I am so bloated I know exactly how this girl feels. But with my first pregnancy with my born daughter I didnt start showing till 4 mos. With this one I think I am showing a lil already.

sigh. "not fat, just pregnant" doesn't apply to me. i'm at 31 weeks and have already put on well over the reccomended 25-35 pounds.

I am only 9 weeks, have lost a total of 20 pounds since shortly before pregnancy was confirmed, but have put on inches(weird to see it happening).. my bf just keeps reminding me that I'm growing our baby. He's so sweet.

When I got pregnant the first time, my husband was the one to inform me that I was developing a 'pouch' and must be pregnant. When I got pregnant the second time, I completely thought that I was just gaining a little weight, but it didn't bother me, which should have been a dead give-a-way. lol.

Right now I'm just trying to get pregnant. I've been on both sides of this mirror. When I was pregnant I just looked fat, I didn't have the beautiful round belly. :-(

I had weight loss surgery and after loosing 90 lbs. I get pregnant! I love it, don't take me wrong but knowing that I will gain more weight that afterwords I will have to loose again, makes me feel a bit scared. I love my "lentil" (that's what i call my 7 week old baby), so I will gain as much weight as necessary for him/her to be safe!

7 weeks 3 days, so far i lost some weight but i noticed my gut is a little harder and kinda poofy hahaha. but i lost weight so i dont get it? - i havent really gotten morning sickness. i hope i dont lose anymore weight.

I used to have a flat belly... I'm almost 17 weeks and i was a stripper, everyone there started to notice, but "normal" ppl can't really tell unless i wear a really tight shirt, lol... But i can tell.

I think we all feel this way almost from the moment we find out we're pregnant. I am 13 weeks and have only gained 2 pounds but feel like I have gained a lot more in inches.

I feel like this sometimes. My boyfriends sister calls me "the fat one" and everyone keeps telling me im big for 7 weeks. lol, I feel like telling them, well your not so skinny yourself, im pregnant, whats your excuse.

This is totally me before I got pregnant I was the right one and now I'm the left one! I told my boyfriend we needed to go shopping for clothes because I wouldn't fit into my clothes anymore. I used to wear really tight shirts and pants!! he said i just wanted to spend money!! I'm 7w 5d pregnant!!

To those of you that lost a couple of pounds early on, no worries! I had the WORST morning sickness! Lost 20 pounds the first trimester, and by week 17, even with the weight loss I still cant button my jeans

my daughter announced to everyone that there's a 'baby in mommy's tummy.' so her daycare director asked my husband how far along i was. when he told her eight weeks, she said she thought i was further along. i was mad and depressed for a few days...

I love how you captured the facial expressions as well, that's what I paid attention to. I was the girl on the right and now the woman on the left! Kinda funny...I am not so sure how much of my belly fat is me and the baby...I need to do some cardio!

i am 6 weeks and i can barely fit in my size 1-2 pants. my stomach isnt big at all but i feel wider than usual.lol. i cant button anything i put on that includes shirts. its all too tight and i havent gained but maybe 2 lbs.

I am bloated one day and the next day I am barely noticeable. I think it is the extra GAS!!!! I am only 7 weeks but I have a pouch of someone who is 4 months along. Yeah I have a House in stead of a Studio for my baby.

im 6 weeks and i actually feel like i lost weight from the NOT drinking alcohol , and nausea ... im happy bout that so far.. i mean i'm 24 soo i used 2 party hardy this is like extreme health mode for me i feel great

but i feel HUGE!!:(
i literally can feel my jeans getting tighter and tighter on my thighs.haha
everyone says that i'm showing alot for 7 weeks, but i think it's because i was really tiny before i got pregnant..
i'm a size 0 and weigh 115 pounds,
so now i already have a little baby belly showing.:)
i just hope my jeans will fit me again one day!!!

ugh I hate how I look right now. . . I feel so big..b/c I am use to being the skinny girl. :( My guy keeps telling me I still look sexy & its b/c I have a baby in my belly. This cartoon actually made me feel like maybe its not just me

I don't show yet, but I can feel my favorite skirt getting tight and that's from gas. I always have gas issues and when I'm pregnant even more so. It just sits ther, I can't get rid of it. I have tried everything. I tried to avoid gassy foods but that doesn't seem to be doing enough. Oh well, I hope it goes away soon. God Bless!

This is cute! This is my 3rd baby. I was already 20 pounds overweight for my height and age. So I've been stressing about getting bigger. But having the honor to carry a baby is such a priviledge that everyone doesn't get. God blessed me with another joyous gift. He spoke to me and told me to enjoy it. Keep my joy, just make wise choices as to my diet and exercise. So thats what I'm focused on. I love him
