After many sleepless nights spent pondering the humorous nature of pregnancy, our yet-to-be-pregnant cartooning artist realized she was going to need some help from moms who'd been there. Happily, a beautiful collaboration between the artist and our snarky freelance mom blogger, the sarcastic journalist, sprung up to save the day! The humor was conceived together and each panel was hand-drawn by our relieved cartooning artist.

That was me just a few days ago... 4 over the counter pregnancy tests, another at the Doctor's office, one blood test.. ALL POSITIVE and I still wanna test again...LOL...talk about nerves
This time i only bought one an the cheap one $3.00 at walmart
my one box had three lol i used two in one day..didn't think i needed to waste the third when i got two straight answers in a matter of a couple of hours:-)

that was me i took 5 test 3 in the clinic till the last was findally POSITIVE only one over the counter was positive but that was my 4th one and i was already 2 months till it was postive...
WOW i took like four pregnancy test an they all came back negative i had to go to the doctor cause all the test kept sayin NO lol!!

lol! I took the first one it came back positive. Couldn't believe it and sent my hubby out for two more, which were also positive. Still not convinced I had the dr do a blood test. Now I feel like it's official.
lol i took 3 and still wasn't convinced so i went to a clinic and had to get written proof.
i took a few, but it was before the hormone was detectable... i went to the docs but they made me wait like 3 weeks before i took one...

I completely felt the same way i took the one i had at hom then made my fiance go to wal mart and get 2 more...lol i stayed at home at drank a bunch of water while he was gone!!!

To Liz- Congratulations! I'm so happy for you! Enjoy every minute that you get to be lazy. You'll never get to do that again. I truly enjoyed every minute that I got befor emy son was born and now that we're expecting #3, I would give anything for a lazy day. LOl oh well. I love my kids.
this is fuuny.... i took 4... 2 when i was 2 days late.. 1 the day after.. 1 the day after that..and then the following day i got a comfirmation from the doctor... lol.. its m first pregnancy.. so i couldnt believe it!!! =)
I totally did the same thing. My husband made me take 7!! His famous line was "Take another one", but we are very happy and our little one is scheduled to arrive on September 30th!! = - )
I only took one which I just so happened to have an app to the doctor the next morning to confirm that I could not conceive at the age of 23. Come to find out, I am 6 weeks and 1 day today! Yay! Thank God for this blessing

i'm military and had just come back from a deployment and went for my then overdue pap exam and to get on birth control. the doc said he only knew about the pill and the shot and i wanted something kinda in between so he refered me to the obgyn. i got preg before my appointment (5 weeks away). my then boyfrienf kept telling me i was preg even before my missed period and i took 1 test to shut him up that came back neg. after about 2 weeks of nausea and very sore and swollen breasts i went back to the doctor only to hve the nurse call and tell me it's positive. of course i thought there had to be some mistake and didn't believe it till my 8 week ultrasound.
I kind of knew. I had to most sore chest in the world. Not only that, being sick and then of course the no period. But I really can't go by that because in October I had 2 periods, then in November just one and then in December none, so something was going on. Besides you don't sit in the batharoom every 5 minutes for fun. With our second, my husband knew I was pregnant before I did. He told me so and I denied it with ever fiber of my being. I didn't want it to be true. My son was only 3 months old for goodness sake. Well now we're having number 3. I am terrified.
I didn't buy any. when i missed my period i said it'll come next month... super denial. i hadn't missed a period since they first started. when it didn't come the second moth, i went to the doctor and they told me. my boyfriend told me everyday before that though... due april 30th
this cartoon is too cute i'm 38 wks now but on a whim i took a pregnancy test just because my boyfriend wanted to make sure because i hadn't had my period yet i took 4 total and took 2 at the doctor's office. i took the one with the lines and when both lines showed up my boyfriend said that doesn't mean pregnant it means inconclusive i thought it was the funniest thing!!!! but he's ecstatic to be a dad now thank goodness!!!!
I didnt even have to take a test! i knew when my breast started hurting and i began to have abdominal discomfort! i missed my period and that confirmed it for me. i went to the doc a week later and took a preg test n she came back with a smile on her face!! so i am approximately 5 weeks:) wish me luck girls because i'm already having "morning sickness" :( Mint tea is my best friend lol! i just hope i'm not this way the whole pregnancy lol!!
Hello, i have been trying for 2 years and on sat,(4 days before my period) and i had 4 positives, all 3 brands digital, lines and plus sign, then the next day we decided to be sure again, we got another digital and a plus sign, one pos and digital neg??, and then today we did a digital and the lines, and both neg??, am i or am i not pregnant, going to the docs tomorrow to verify, it will break my heart if im not, but i cant see that with the 5 positives. please coment....
Ha HA... i bought 2 at the dollar store and was positive, another brand name and still positive... Thank God wasnt for me... but i ll be a grandmother in 8 more months...My daughter dont believe it still.. next 2 days she want to have the blood test to convince just herself...the cartoons are amazing!!
When me and my husband decided to try to get pregnant I was only off of my birth control for 2 WEEKS...I I took a total of 8 tests...3 at the same time on Father's day night and they were positive before I even counted 10 seconds, nevermind the 30 seconds they say to dip it in for. My husband said they weren't accurate because it wasn't the full 30 seconds so he went to CVS and bought another 3 pack plus one expensive one...I took them all the next morning with my morning pee...then of course the one at the doctors office! hehe..Men! =) Good Luck Girls...

My fiance (now husband) knew I was pregnant before I did!! I was in total denial until I took a test. I remember waiting an extra minute and than droppin the test on teh floor when I saw the positive lines! haha. Now I'm 37 weeks and we're soo excited for our first lil' monsta!
I have taken 2 cheapos one was very faint but it was positive the other was negitive. now i'm taking two clearblue easy digital tests and i've only taken one but it was negitive and they said that, it could of happened b/c my urine was diluted or sumthin idk! and i'm takin the other first thing in tha mornin!
I took only 1.. I have 2 periods a month so I knew when I missed the first one of the month but I waited for the second one then 10 later I took it. It didn't take 2 min like the test said it took like 2 sec. to find out
well, i know that a positive is a positive... even when the line is really faint, which is what i got both pregnancies... but i totally understand the surreal feeling that maybe i'm not really pregnant.
what solidified it for me, even after the tests at planned parenthood and at the ob-gyn's, was that first ultrasound! visual proof that it's not a psychological pregnancy!
Mamma Bear... if you've been trying for some time you're going to be excited and want to make sure!! I took 5 pregnancy tests because it took us nearly 4 years and I didn't believe it! Finally believed it when I it was positive from the blood work.
I don't get this kinda of behavior....oy. I bought one and when I saw the two lines I was satisfied with that. Where would the hormone show up if you weren't? If I KNEW I was and it said Negative then I would buy a couple but dang! One ept, a blood test and I was good to go. Early symptoms helped too.
I took 1 and it showed up quite clear so I scheduled a doctors appointment cause I thought that I could be mistaking but they said it was positive I went to 3 different doctors to make sure. Come on I'm only 15.

i bought a cheap one just to rule out that theory as to why i was late. when that one came up positive i went back to the store and bought a more expensive one with two in the box. those said positive so i thought it was just something i ate that made it that way (i was on birth control) but after 4 more tests and the doc telling me i finnaly believed

i took a first response today and there were two lines but the 2nd line was so faint you could only see it under a lite but it was kinda pink. i had peed about 40 minutes before i took it and my period is only 6 days late so what do u think?

Well that makes me feel better I took 4 and still didn't believe it until i went to the doctors and had the ultrasound done....then it hit me when i heard the baby's heart beat....lol

omg... I bought 4 a the ones with the lines and the one that spells it out for you.. the first one I took at night and came back negative.. but like 2 hours later it was positive. I was on the phone with the manufactures questioning them about the accuracy of the test. then I took the next three the next day and the all said PREGNANT. Still in denial called the doctor.
I bought a two-pack of the digital tests. They say "Pregnant" or "Not Pregnant" instead of having to interpret lines and marks. The first one came back positive, and I smacked it on the counter thinking that the battery that operates the word "Not" must have been broken. The next morning I took the second one. It must have been broken too, because it said the same thing. So I went to Wal-Mart and bought two more - one with two lines and one with the plus sign. They both came back positive as well. I think I finally started believing it after I took a fifth test - at the doctor.
I knew but wasn't sure I had the morning sickness feeling and I took 1 and my boyfriends house the 1 at my bestfriends both were positive but I didn't believe it so my boyfriend went and bought about 9 of the dollar ones ao I was all p*ssed out! Finally my dov draw a nice circle with an X in the center and I am thinking gr8 I am not preg. all smiles... well she said not an X hun and wrote positive I about died! So I am due Dec 13th!
I only took 1 test, I have 3 girls. I thought my stomach was feeling funny after only 1 week of my last period, told my fiancee to guy and test and it was positive. I knew it was right since I've been through this several times before.
I TOOK 15 AND A URINE TEST AND BLOOD WORK... JUST TO MAKE SURE DAT I WAS PREGNANT PUERTO RICO DOES WORK 2 CONCEIVE....LOL

I took a negative test 2 days before my missed period. I threw it away thinking, "okay, next month maybe", then I was looking for something on Sunday (the day of my next cycle start) and looked through the trash and saw my test again, except this time - it was positive...until you get your cycle, nothing is sure! I'm 6 1/2 weeks...

lol this is funny with my first i just took one. But now 7 years later i took 7 and still didn't believe it. so i went to the doctor and had them give me a test and when she came back and told me i still didn't think it was right.. Now i'm 32 weeks

When I found out I was really shocked. I jammed my finger the day before and woke up the next day and it was even more swollen and black and blue. So, my fiance and I went to the ER they wanted to take an x-ray but they wanted to make sure I wasn't pregnant. I hadn't started my period yet, so I was just hoping that it was negative because I didn't even have a chance to process it. The doctor came back and announced I was pregnant. My fiance was with me and he was very excited, but saw that I was scared and asked the doctor "This might be a stupid question but you're sure that she is pregnant" They replied "yes!" That was proof enough for me.

well i took two one at my girlfriends and b4 i could get up off the tolit it was positive... my husband and i didn't believe it then two days later we bought another and the samething happend.... we were hopeing it wasn't true because our first child is only 4 months old... the last time i was prego i was sooo sick and this time i have nothing...
I totally found out by accident. I work in the laboratory at a hospital and they needed a negative control for the pregnancy test kits. Of course, I didn't think I was, so I volunteered to be a negative. Well, my colleauges thought I was playing a joke on them and scolded me for not telling them I was pregnant. I had no idea what the heck they were talking about. I took four that night at work, went home and took three more. Then, the next day at work, took five more. I took two a day for the next two weeks. I know this sounds crazy, but you have to understand, just two months before, my doctor told me I would never be able to have children.
With my first one we wanted to be pregnant so I took one test after my missed period. I waited a while to take one because I thought I was having pregnancy symptoms but didn't want to get too excited (I wanted to be sure!). So I took a test and the line came up within 10 seconds! I was so thrilled : ) I re-read the directions to make sure I was reading it right, and I was. I was in such shock (the good kind) I kept re-reading the directions. Finally I got out of the bathroom and went to tell my husband who was anxiously waiting for my response. It was a wonderful day that I'll remember forever!

my fiance and i were SURE we were pregnant for 4 months straight.. but nothing! the tests all read negative. i went to the dr's because i thought i had a UTI... i was peeing once and hour or more! before he prescribed an antibiotic he insisted i take a pregnancy test. i was sure it would be negative.. but to my surprise.. it was positive. when i got home my fiance had me take an at-home just to be sure the dr wasn't wrong! funny that once i gave up, fate stepped in. we're due sept 21. 2007 with our first!
This was me...I took one at home, went to the clinic, and then took two more at home. I found out so early, I was only 12 days pregnant, that at first the second line was so light I didn't think it meant anything...turns out 29 weeks later, it meant something alright. I will feel like a cow for a while longer.

I thought taking two at home and then calling the doctor and telling them there wasn't anyway I could be so I needed bloodwork because my partner is "sterile" was crazy... I was hoping for a false positive but, am happy either way.
I took 2 at home and then 1 at the Doctors office then 2 more blood tests so we were 100 percent sure by the time it was to tell everyone!!!
There is never a false positive on a pregnancy test... Doctors have told me that... They might say negative or not pregnant and that could not be true but there is NEVER A FALSE POSITIVE!

I had a similar situation. I KNEW I was pregnant - could tell by the way my body was acting, plus I hadn't had a period in a couple months. I took 8 at home tests (all negative), 4 urine tests at the dr (all negative), plus 1 blood test at the dr (also negative.). Tried for couple weeks to get in to see an OB/GYN and they kept cancelling my appointment. Finally got mad and went to another dr's office, did a blood test and within 45 minutes had it confirmed I was pregnant. Found out a week after confirmation that I was nearly 7 weeks along, my due date is August 11th, 2007.
this was how i was the first time that i was pregnant.. i took the first one because i just wanted to scare my boyfriend...but then ended up scaring myself more than i did him....he had no idea why i was running around the house drinking water....then going to the bathroom and talk to myself....i finally filled him in on my secret....haha

The day I found out I was pregnant I was ready to have surgery, fully ready for the Operating Room, and waiting on my test results. They came back positive after 3 negative test at home. I almost asked for a second oppinion.
I took two cheapos. Both said positive almost as soon as the pee hit them. It would have been even cheaper just to listen to my (now) husband, because he had been insisting i was pregnant since well before I was even late.

Well I took #3 today. Very faint second line but all 3 have it. My first two one test was enough for me. We have not had it easy with #3.

With my first child one test was enough... this time around I took like 5 tests before I finally just went to the health department and got a proof or pregnancy so I would finally believe it! That's terrible!! all of my tests came back positive within the first 10-15 seconds.

This is typical. It doesn't matter if you take 10 tests and they are all positive, you still think you've imagined the whole thing, even when its confirmed by the doctor.

We lost an angel at 8 weeks and Amy at 34 1/2 weeks. We finally got up the nerve to try again and the first month I took 12! The next month, 5 and this month 3. Walgreens loves me!

I can top both of you! I bought pregnancy tests for only $1.00 each at a local discount store. I ended up taking 7 of them and them 2 more of a more expensive brand, just for good measure! I just turned 43 and we had only tried to conceive for two months ... can you blame me? ;-)
