About the pregnancy cartoons

After many sleepless nights spent pondering the humorous nature of pregnancy, our yet-to-be-pregnant cartooning artist realized she was going to need some help from moms who'd been there. Happily, a beautiful collaboration between the artist and our snarky freelance mom blogger, the sarcastic journalist, sprung up to save the day! The humor was conceived together and each panel was hand-drawn by our relieved cartooning artist.

I'm at the end of a 4-pack of us having babies this summer. One cousin just had her lil girl 5/30, her sister's lil boy is due 7/7, my sister (in-law) is due 7/12 and I'm up for 7/27. I'm hoping that since this isn't my first, like the others, the more time I spend with them the less likely I'll have to wait another whole 2 weeks after them.

I'm sooo lucky my closest girl friends are pregnant with me. I'm in the lead at 35 weeks and they trail two, four, and five months behind me. It's nice having the comfort of people who are going through what I'm going through.

I'm hoping the same thing, I just found out that someone I can't stand is due the same month as me. I guess I can just hope and pray that mine is born first. She's one of those people who will give you her opinion as if it's a known scientific fact. Argggg.

true about the longer cycles. my cycles are about 38 days, and i knew the first due date i got of january 31st was wrong. during my first ultrasound i learned that i'm actually due february 10th...
but yeah, my first pregnancy, i had a cousin expecting twins three days before me. she ended up giving birth a month early, then she felt sorry for me because i was still huge!
this cartoon spoke to me (made me laugh histerically) because i used to carry those twins as much as i could hoping they would make my baby want to come out! (i know... i'm crazy...)

To the person who is a month overdue, either your due date was miscalculated or your doctor is a crackhead. No OB or midwife in this century that I have ever heard of lets women go that far because it's extremely dangerous and everything starts deteriorating inside. Some women have a longer cycle and could actually be due on time for their body.

I love it. And it's so true how you go seeking out other pregnant women or suddenly feel a bond in the elevator with another mommy-to-be. I even sought out my pregnant friends who I hadn't talked to in ages. So egotistical. They seem to need me as well, so we're all in this together.

heh.. I have a fear that my friend who is due a month after me is going to have her baby premature and end up having it before me while I have to suffer through being 2 wks late or something...

honestly, after 30-odd cartoons, my mind was getting a little numb... this one was actually inspired by a comment my bf made about synchronizing periods. i think it's fairly apt esp. because many pregnant women end up being friends just because they're both preggers and don't know anyone else pregnant at the time.
