About the pregnancy cartoons
After many sleepless nights spent pondering the humorous nature of pregnancy, our yet-to-be-pregnant cartooning artist realized she was going to need some help from moms who'd been there. Happily, a beautiful collaboration between the artist and our snarky freelance mom blogger, the sarcastic journalist, sprung up to save the day! The humor was conceived together and each panel was hand-drawn by our relieved cartooning artist.

i came up with this concept early on... and in all honesty it was inspired by a horrible joke about pregnant women looking fat.
still, i rather like the look and feel of this particular panel.

lol This is cute! Something similar actually happened to one of my part time workers a few months back. We had an old lady that had come into the store and she had asked her how far along the girl was and when she was due. Poor thing excused herself to the break room until the lady left. She was so upset because the woman thought she was pregnant and she wasn't! On the flip side of it you've got situations like the one above where you're pregnant and strangers just assume you've got a big belly. lol

I wonder how many people actually mistake a pregnant belly for just a fat gut. I used to think that some people that saw my belly would think I was just a huge cow. Maybe they do think that. Who knows....the people i deliver pizza to might see my huge belly and think that it's the result of too little exercise, too much tasty food....hehe.

My hubby and I are expecting #2 in 4 months and our daughter just turned one... and we're trying to get her as familiar as possible with the concept of another baby in mommy's tummy... so we point to my belly and say "baby"... on Sunday morning she pointed to her daddy's belly and said "BAABY"

omg, lol my old neighbor came up to me and said "now that its sunny out you can try exercising" i wanted to rip her head off, but then i just laughed because she's as old as the crypt keeper and has probably forgot that women can still get pregnant.

I look at my friend and think to myself. WOW SHE'S HUGE! and I'm the one who's having the kid. She's just big in general...it makes me feel better, but then I remember that I'm wearing my father's size 3x pajama pants around the house all the time and his huge t-shirts as well so that puts a dampener on it all

Funny. I am 29 weeks pregnant with my second son and my uncle recently told me that I was the size of a house! I told him that I may be fat, but he's ugly and I can go on a diet!

I can't even count how many times I have looked at another woman and wondered if she's pregnant or just big. Sad I know, but sometimes the thought comes before you can stop it. I look about 6 months along and I'm only 8 weeks. Thanks to all the leftover baby weight from my other two pregnancies. Wonderful.
