About the pregnancy cartoons
After many sleepless nights spent pondering the humorous nature of pregnancy, our yet-to-be-pregnant cartooning artist realized she was going to need some help from moms who'd been there. Happily, a beautiful collaboration between the artist and our snarky freelance mom blogger, the sarcastic journalist, sprung up to save the day! The humor was conceived together and each panel was hand-drawn by our relieved cartooning artist.

Seriously. I'm about *Empowerment* just as much as the next girl...I just don't find pregnancy all that empowering. Heck, I'm TOTALLY type A+++ personality, and pregnancy is the LEAST in control I EVER feel. Empowerment is for when I'm NOT pregnant. This cartoon is FUNNY. :-P

When you're giving birth, I'm thinking you're not going to feel to empowered at the moment when you're crowning. Maybe afterwords but not in that moment. I agree with Sandy Pettey, I want my body back too.
It's too bad they can't show an empowered woman giving birth in a positive way - this comic is just going to scare people. Sad.
