After many sleepless nights spent pondering the humorous nature of pregnancy, our yet-to-be-pregnant cartooning artist realized she was going to need some help from moms who'd been there. Happily, a beautiful collaboration between the artist and our snarky freelance mom blogger, the sarcastic journalist, sprung up to save the day! The humor was conceived together and each panel was hand-drawn by our relieved cartooning artist.

i hated random people coming up to my belly to rub it like some lucky crystal ball!! I'm glad I have a body guard this time to keep the crazy people away!!
I thought I was the only one that felt this way. And the sad part about it is that uless you're pregnant, you dont understand what we're going thru.
loooooool it's right
true, but after the questions come the touching. I dont mind my baby bump being touched by people i know, but when i go out i really want a shirt that says "Yes I am pregnant, No you Cant touch me!"
thats so ture
this is funny because i didnt have any of these symptoms
i feel the same way
i really dont get all those symptoms..
my answer is always the same!! "how do you feel?" "I feel pregnant!!" it always gets a chuckle, and puts an end to all questions!! :)
My pregnancy was planned, so I knew I was pregnant quite a bit earlier than some women. And, foolishly, I told everyone I work with and all my family and friends. I immediately got the "how are you feeling?" every day, which doesn't bother me because it's people I know and they're genuinely interested. But when they started saying that I was showing at 10 weeks, it started upsetting me. I wasn't showing. I've had a little pudge since the birth of my first child five years ago, and no one really noticed before because no one was looking for it. Now that they're looking and trying to see if I'm showing, they see my pudge and think it's a baby bump. And it's really embarassing to be like "no, that's just fat...yes, I've always had it, you just never noticed it before." But I'm at 14 weeks now and baby is big enough to push some of my insides out of its way, so now I do have a little belly. It isn't baby, just displaced innards, but I've gotten to the point where I don't bother correcting anyone anymore. I'm just glad they aren't touching me...yet.
Lol I totally agree with leigha he he im 13 weeks and dnt show at all yet if anything im thinner than before. And as soon as I tell people tht im pregnant they start rubbing my stomach...I dnt find it annoying yet to me its still cute but I guess ill see in a couple weeks =)
Talk about hitting the nail on the head! This is by far my favorite of all the cartoons...it pretty much sums up all the sucky things about pregnancy lol
I really only have family ask that. But when you go to a family gathering and you have to answer each person individually that gets a littly tiring. Other than that I'm pretty lucky, not too many people ask. About the belly rubbing the only people who do that is my hubby and my best friend. Lucky there too I guess.
i work at macys and i was ringin up a customer when she says, "you are so adorable with you pregnant belly"... i put my head down with embarrassment and responded "i'm not pregnant". she apologized a million times before i told her i was just kiddin... i thought it was funny and it taught her a lesson about jumpin to conclusions :-D
To the Jessica that wrote about being skinny and not showing. I feel you on that one. I am naturally small, so I hear from strangers that have overheard conversation, you're not big enough to be 14 weeks ( or however many weeks I am that day).
CARLIN... I hate that too. I went to the restroom at work the other day and this lady came out of the stall after me and came right up to me and rubbed my stomach. I wanted to vomit! I can't stand that in the first place, but, if your gonna do it, WASH YOUR HANDS FIRST!!!
I must say, I love my Grandmother. God bless her little heart. I am 29 weeks pregnant with my second son and I saw her the other day. She asked me how I was feeling an I told her I was a little tired. She proceeded to tell me that I looked like crap and that I needed to put on makeup anytime I left the house. I was crushed because I actually spent time that morning fixing my hair AND makeup. I thought I actually looked better than most days! Shows what I know.
have a nice day
This is great but I love how you also added 'nosy strangers'. I'm only 10 weeks and I'm already feeling secretive. I don't want people asking me questions. I need to find a polite way to shoo people off!
I ususally just tell anyone who asks me this that I feel fat. And they say 'your not fat your pregnant'. and I say 'yeah, well I can't see my feet, and that makes me feel fat!' that tends to end the conversation. :)
This one is very funny and so true I've just hit the four month mark and it's my financee and my first baby!
I bought my daugher a maternity t-shirt that says it all - it's Happy Bunny (we love him) and underneat it just says "very uncomfortable, thank you." She is 21 weeks. My older daughter is 25 weeks and my daughter in law is 29 weeks, so I want to get one for each of them as well.
Jessica, that's really normal - so no worries. I didn't show at all until 18 weeks (and then people still looked shocked when I told them I was pregnant).
Now that I'm a little farther - I find this cartoon hysterical.
I LAUGH SO HARD WHEN I SAW THIS BECAUSE IT IS SO TRUE
The only thing good about being pregnant is the baby!!!!!
Hey what does it mean when u are 14 wks and not showing that much and u was skinny does that suppose to mean anything??? PLease comment me back or send me a email please
i hate when people ask me this question...but i have to admit....when i wasnt prego i would ask the same thing....you dont know what else to ask....lol
I LUV THIS ONE CAUSE IS JUST HOW I FEEL ALL THE WAY.........LOL
I hate this question because they talk to you like they want to be the first person you call when you go into labor.
I have been in this situation too many times to count, when will people get it? We dont want to be asked 'how its going' all the friggen time, Just let us do our thing and you do yours.
I love this because I can honestly relate! Haha. Pregnancy can be so hard and I get about every symptom their is..but I'm still very excited :)
This is perfect! This is something I think most pregnant women deal with!
Everyone wants to know how you're doing, how you're feeling, and it's really hard not to be short with them.
I always tell them exactly how I feel - "Pregnant."
i have no idea where the concept of a glowing pregnant woman came from-- pregnancy sounds more like a very evil nine month flu than anything else.
